DOOM has been re-BORN LIKE THIS

I don't know what the title of this post is supposed to mean, but i never really know what I'm doing when I'm typing on here. DOOM's alter-ego King Geedora was the that inspired the creation of Craig Haas, not to mention so many other alter-ego's on the scene, so it's only fitting that he be on this blog at least once. His new album BORN LIKE THIS is classic DOOM, spitting mind blowing lyrics with grimy beats to back. So if you've been diggin' DOOM in the past or this is your first journey behind the metal mask take a deep listen. BTW, check out the brutal cover below, I couldn't open the post with this cause I feel like I could make this on photoshop as long as I took a couple pictures in an Egypt exhibit and got someone at art school to make this sand sculpture. The only hope this cover has is if the hieroglyphics say something profound or hilarious.

Animal Collective - My Girls; AND WHAT A VIDEO

Just thought I'd put this up here since it's MTV Canada's video/song of the day yesterday. Who would have ever though these guys would be mainstream? I'm not complaining, just watch and listen, the watch and listen an hour into zoomers then you'll understand.

Kanye West is now filed under weirdo.

All I wanted to do with this post was show that 808's was Kanye's musical effort at avant grande. Cause that didn't fly so well, I guess he decided to sport a Frullet (Afro-Mullet) in order to show how dedicated he was to the never will be mainstream or "cool" culture.

*** Correction, his American Idol performance showed no mullet, but still these pictures show his fancy gloves that he's still sporting.

tUnE-YaRdS is an ICQ lovin' hiphop Woody Guthrie

Who knew that capitalizing every second letter like back in the ICQ/IRC days could still make you cool. Well at least it gives you indie cred' I guess. So does face paint and colorful feathers as well. Who gives and eff what Merrill G's wearing, his music style is everything that Architecture in Helsinki has to offer in a single beatnik hipster.

Throwback to Vietnam

Quoting fellow blogger electriklife, "Brilliantly odd instrumental hip hop album here from Onra, compiled and constructed around vintage Vietnamese pop records picked up in flea markets on a trip to the far east. 32 short tracks make up "Chinoiseries", each of them clocking in at the 1 or 2 minute mark and delivering a tight selection of beats that somehow bring to mind J Dilla, Rza, Madlib, Moondog, MF Doom and the Sublime Frequencies label rolled into one beautifully incoherent package."
